What efforts are being made to maintain this positive civic engagement with technology? How can Philly be a model for other governments to follow? In what way can we continue to innovate and improve? Tim Wisniewski is the Chief Data Officer for the City of Philadelphia, where he and his team work with City departments to enhance transparency and civic engagement by publishing government data online, building websites and digital services.
Chris Alfano is a co-founder of Northern Liberties collaborative co-working space Localhost and development firm Jarvus. He is the brigade captain for Code for Philly, a Code for America brigade, who work to improve Philadelphia through technology.
Briana Morgan is a data geek, health planner, and writer. She believes in the power of data to transform communities, and thinks data should be accessible to every audience. Much of her work centers on using both qualitative and quantitative research to improve HIV services. Briana is also a co-organizer of Philly NetSquared, a board member at PANMA (the Philadelphia Area New Media Association), and co-creator of Rebel Public Health.
